[Using a Formoonsa Cup for the First Time]
When inserting and removing the cup, keep your body and mind completely relaxed, as tension makes the vaginal muscles contract and the cup harder to insert and remove. Although menstrual blood itself acts as a lubricant,
if you still have difficulty inserting it, moisten the cup with clean water or a suitable amount of water-based lubricant to help it slide in more easily.
The cup should sit in the insensate zone of the vagina; if you feel a foreign-body sensation, it is not positioned correctly, so please reinsert it until it is in the right place.
[How to Insert Your Formoonsa Cup]
1. Before insertion, wash your hands thoroughly with a neutral cleanser and warm water.
2. Get into position: squat deeply, sit on the toilet with your legs apart, or stand with one foot on the toilet or the edge of the bathtub — use whichever of these positions lets you apply force most easily.
3. Remember to make good use of the pre-pressed fold on the cup, folding it in the way that feels most comfortable for you so it is easier to push into the vagina.
4. Hold the folded cup firmly between your thumb and index finger, use your other hand to part the labia, and slowly insert the cup.
5. Once the pull ring at the base of the cup has fully entered the vagina, stop pushing. You can use your vaginal muscles to gently grip the cup, helping it move into the correct position with them.
How to Tell If It Is Placed Correctly
- Run a finger around the cup to check that it sits snugly against the vaginal wall. Gently rotate it back and forth and tug it up and down; if you feel suction, the cup has been inserted successfully.
-
If, after insertion, you feel abnormal pain that is not menstrual pain (such as a dull or aching pain), or notice increased discharge, there may have been too little air left inside the cup, so that as it opened it created a vacuum seal against the cervix. If so, be sure to remove it and reinsert it; alternatively, press the rim (the mouth of the cup) several times to let air flow in and out, which will relieve the vacuum pain.
[How to Remove Your Formoonsa Cup]
- Gently squeeze the base or edge of the cup to release the vacuum seal, then insert a finger into your vagina and hook the pull ring. Gently rock the cup from side to side and pull it out.
- Open the rim to restore the flower-shaped body, pour out the menstrual blood, and clean the cup with water or another method (see [Product Disinfection & Cleaning] in the instructions).
